Semi-Permanent Makeup in Norwich
Semi-Permanent Makeup for Brows, Lips, Eyeliner & Areola
More people than ever are choosing to wake up feeling fresh, confident and naturally enhanced. Semi-permanent makeup treatments for brows, eyeliner, lips and areola are designed to restore definition, balance and symmetry, while still looking like you.
Brows help frame the face and can make a powerful difference to confidence, especially for those affected by over-plucking, fine or sparse hair, or hair loss caused by conditions such as alopecia or medical treatment. Eyeliner gently defines and opens the eyes, while lip treatments can add a soft blush of colour for a natural look or a brighter tone to lift and enhance the face. Areola restoration offers a discreet, compassionate solution to help recreate a natural appearance and support emotional wellbeing.

PMU Frequently Asked Questions
What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup (PMU), also called cosmetic tattooing or micropigmentation, is a procedure where pigment is implanted into the skin to enhance features such as eyebrows, eyeliner, or lips.
How long does permanent makeup last?
Results typically last 1–3 years, depending on:
Skin type
Lifestyle (sun exposure, skin treatments)
Pigment color
Technique used
Most clients need touch-ups to keep the colour fresh.
Does PMU hurt?
Discomfort varies by person, but topical numbing cream is applied to minimise pain. Most of my clients don’t feel anything although lips can be more sensitive.
What procedures are available?
Mandy’s Popular PMU services include:
Hairstroke Brows
Hairstroke & Combo Brows
Powder/Ombre Brows
Lip Blush
Eyeliner or Lash Enhancement
What is the healing process like for PMU?
On the day of treatment the brows may look slightly red and the brow will look stronger and darker than expected. Strokes will look crisper but will settle over the next few days.
Healing takes about 7 days, and full color develops in 4–6 weeks.
You may experience:
Redness or swelling (temporary)
Mild flaking or scabbing
Colour that appears darker before softening

Are there side effects to PMU?
Minor temporary effects are normal. Serious complications are rare when performed by a trained artist using sterile tools.
Who is NOT a candidate for PMU?
Avoid PMU if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have certain skin conditions (eczema/psoriasis on the area)
Have uncontrolled diabetes or a bleeding disorder
Take blood thinners (consult your doctor)
A pre-treatment consultation is always recommended.
Is PMU the same as a traditional tattoo?
No. PMU uses:
Finer needles
Shallower placement
Softer pigments meant to fade gradually, not last forever
What aftercare is required?
Typical instructions:
Keep the area dry and clean
Avoid picking scabs
Skip heavy sweating, pools, saunas, and makeup on the area until healed
Apply aftercare product supplied
Avoid sun exposure for minimum of 2 weeks before and after appointment and use SPF on brows and lips
Can PMU be removed or corrected?
Yes although colour correction is not the best option unless they have really faded.. Options include:
Lightening or color correction
Saline or Glycolic removal
Laser removal (depends on pigment)
Results vary by skin and pigment.
How will it look straight after a PMU treatment?
On the day of treatment the brows may look slightly red and the brow will look stronger and darker than expected. Strokes will look crisper but will settle over the next few days.
What is the aftercare for PMU?
Aftercare is so important and must be followed to achieve the correct healed results. An aftercare product is used after treatment to help as the skin can feel a little itchy around 4-5 days. They must not get wet for at least 7 days, so no vigorous exercise or water on the face. Brows will fade around 40% and shrink about 15% Skin must not be picked as this will cause uneven pigment…
A consultation and patch test is needed before booking a full treatment.
Book a Consultation
A full PMU consultation is carried out before booking and a patch test is done. This is extremely important as not everybody is suitable for PMU. It is dependent on many factors such as skin type, condition and age of skin as well as lifestyle factors.
